Booking and Payment
All bookings must be paid in advance. For companies, other conditions apply.
Bookings online on our website are paid with a credit or debit card.
Bookings made via email or phone can be paid with Swish (Swedish mobile payment system) or by payment to our bank account (SWIFT/BIC: SWEDSESS. IBAN:SE51 8000 0828 42004 4157 6018, Sala Missionsförsamling, N Esplanaden 12, 733 30 Sala, Sweden). If payment is made to our bank account, it has to be done no later than 5 banking days before check-in so that the payment is registered in time.
All rooms and other spaces are equipped with code locks. The code is sent automatically via SMS and email provided that the booking has been paid. The booking is confirmed by email when payment has been registered. It is possible to book a room online on the same day as the day of arrival.
Check-in
Check-in is open from 2 pm, unless otherwise agreed. All spaces available to our guests are equipped with code locks. A single personal code goes to all doors. The code is sent automatically at 2 pm on the day of arrival, provided that the payment has been registered, both by email and SMS according to the information provided at the time of booking. If the booking is made at 2 pm or later on the day of arrival, the code will be sent immediately. The code is valid until 10 am on the day of departure for hostel guests and 12 noon for camping guests.
Check-out
Check-out is no later than 10 am for hostel guests and no later than 12 noon for camping guests. The code automatically expires at this time.
Cancellation
Cancellation or changes to the booking can be made free of charge before 2 pm on the day before the day of arrival. When the booking has been paid for by credit card, the paid amount will be returned to that same card. If the booking is cancelled or changed after 2pm the day before the arrival date, 100% of the cost of the first night will be charged. In case of no-show without Sofielund being notified, no refund will be made. Bookings made through booking.com MUST be cancelled via booking.com. If the condition ”Non-refundable” has been selected, no refund will be made.
For cancellations or changes to group bookings, special conditions apply. Please ask our staff at the reception.
Sheets, Towels and Cleaning
Sheets, towels and cleaning are included in the hostel prices. The guest makes the bed himself and takes the duvet and pillow out of the duvet cover and pillowcase and places the used sheets and towels inside the door before check-out.
GENERAL RULES
Sofielund Hostel & Camping wants everyone to enjoy themselves, we apply common sense and a few simple rules, please follow them!
Staff is not always available in the area. If there is something you need help with, first check the information on the notice boards and in the rooms. If you still need help, call us on +46 70 799 87 77. An emergency number is posted on the hostel building next to the stairs to the upper floor.
Responsibility & Damage
You as a guest are responsible for any damage that you, or those you may share a room with, cause within the hostel. All guests are responsible for their own personal belongings. Sofielund Hostel & Camping will not soever take responsibility for a your valuables or other belongings.
Guests who cause false alarms will be charged SEK 6,000. If a key (applies to camping guests who have received a key to the electricity connection), or other equipment hasn’t been returned the guest will be charged for the cost of replacement.
Smoking & Alcohol
The hostel is a non-smoking facility. Smoking may only take place outdoors in a marked area. In case of violation of the smoking ban, the hostel has the right to charge the cost of a false alarm of 6000 SEK and for any cleaning.
Sofielund Hostel & Camping has an alcohol-free policy. We ask our guests to respect this.
Pets
We allow pets in one of the two 4-bed rooms with direct entrance, located on the ground floor of the Hostel building. Out of consideration for allergy sufferers, other areas are pet-free. We ask you to respect this.
If you will be bringing pets with you, please notify us so that we can guarantee you the room available for pets. The price for up to three pets is included in the room price/night.
For the well-being of all guests, we do not allow walking dogs in the public outdoor area, except for the forest land and outside the Sofielund area.
Camping guests are free to have pets. However, here too, public spaces are pet-free and walking is not allowed in the public outdoor area, except for the forest land and outside the Sofielund area.
