Sofielund is owned and operated by Sala Mission Covenant Church. The site offers a hostel, camping, and a youth recreation center in a beautiful setting next to Mellandammen.
The hostel and campsite are open year-round. The outdoor recreation area and café are open during the summer season.
Working at Sofielund is a popular summer job for students, offering varied and educational work.
Sofielund is located near Sala Silver Mine—Sweden’s royal treasury—and close to the beach at Långforsen. Nearby, you’ll also find Måns Ols Inn, which serves well-prepared and delicious meals made from local ingredients.

Café & Activities
Summer Café
Enjoy Fairtrade-certified coffee and tea in the café. Soft drinks and ice cream are also available. Tasty homemade pastries and hearty sandwiches are served daily.
Take your coffee out to the park to sit in the shade of the apple trees and listen to the birdsong, or sit indoors in the cozy café located in the main building from 1881.

13 rooms with a total of 25 beds, including single, double, triple, and four-bed rooms. Kitchen and bathroom are shared with other guests.

Summer
14 electric hook-up sites for motorhomes and caravans. Six on grass, the rest on gravel. Two gravel spots accommodate extra-long
vehicles.
Winter
Only gravel spots are used in winter to prevent grass wear.
